Riding the Totem Pole in Gitsegukla shared copyright image with Herb Russel of Gitsegukla

The Gitxsan elder Herb told me of his earliest memory when we were out totem pole viewing in his community. He told me his earliest spiritual memory was riding on his family totem pole when he was five years old. I kept thinking about Herb riding on the totem pole and asked him if I could paint the image from my imagination not researching it, just imaging it. When I presented it to him he loved it. He wanted a copy of it. We agreed to share the image and share the profits from the sales of the image. We retain the original acrylic collage art work.
