Fiddleheads are the first food source in the springtime for me. They are the most beautiful and tastiest of the earths bountiful vegetables. When I return from Fiddlehead picking I do not just eat them. I prepare a bouquet of them, with yellow lillies for my Easter dining room table. Once their animated little heads start to droop, I put them into my soup pot. The morning I started this painting was at sunrise on the Skeena river bank and in a gentle breeze they looked like they were dancing little fairy people.
